Gerry the Chihuahua
Meet the Turley family's favorite little dude!
Gerry, our 15-year-old Chihuahua, is a beloved member of our family. We adopted him from the Gwinnett County Animal Shelter about a year ago. We saw his picture online and instantly knew he was meant to be ours. His name at the shelter was actually Gerald. Since our other dogs are Harriet (Harry) and Terrence (Terry), it made sense that we also would have a Gerry.
He’s a very calm and quiet dog, which is unusual for a Chihuahua. Every bed in our house is Gerry's bed; clearly he is in charge around here. Our girls love to make him “talk” by poking his nose. He says all sorts of funny things like “Don’t touch me!”
Gerry mainly hangs out at home but sometimes enjoys going to the bus stop with the kids. He also enjoys doing "border patrol" in the small dog park in Settles Bridge Park. He’s always excited to see new people and sniff new things.
Even though he is an older dog, Gerry is still a puppy at heart. He surprises us by playing with our other dogs. He has a youthful and adventurous spirit! Knowing Gerry, if he could figure out how to get there, he would probably follow his favorite band, BlackBerry Smoke, on tour.
We’re so grateful to have Gerry in our lives. He’s brought us so much joy and companionship, and we cherish every moment with him.
