Kingston Torvik Takes the Field by Storm
This middle school quarterback's spectacular 40-yard touchdown run is one for the books!
If you had asked Kingston Torvik a few years ago what he wanted to be when he grew up, he would have eagerly said a professional baseball player. However, these days his attention is more focused on football. You see, the thirteen-year-old Kingston recently quarterbacked the Wilkinson Middle School football team for the first time. While speaking with Kingston, he recalled one of his favorite moments on the field to us, “I was handing the ball off to my running back and the handoff was dropped. I picked up the ball and ran a 40-yard touchdown. That was a really cool moment”!
Kingston went on to explain this was his first time playing organized football (which says a lot about his natural talents); and that he had been inspired by Texas’ own Patrick Mahomes. When asked why, Kingston stated, “he started playing football at the same age I did, and he also played baseball as I do”. Kingston shared he would love to someday attend Texas Tech University (Guns Up) where he too could be a dual sport athlete (like Mahomes) in both football and baseball.
When Kingston isn’t recovering fumbles or hitting home runs, he enjoys watching the Dallas Cowboys (his favorite professional football team), traveling to places in Mexico (like Cancun), eating tamales and listening to rap music. When in school Kingston enjoys math… what a plus!
For now, it sounds like Kingston is having a lot of fun on the field(s) while he carves out his passions. In the meantime, our Hollyhock community will be rooting him on from the sidelines!
