Third Annual Tears & Cheers MOMosas

A Hollyhock tradition, the ladies of Hollyhock support one another on this bittersweet day!

In my adulthood, I have come to appreciate traditions more and more.  In my previous neighborhood, my lady neighbors became my tribe (many of whom still are my best friends today).  When our son began Kindergarten, I knew it was going to be so hard.  Before starting, I already would get teary-eyed even thinking about it.  I had an idea to get my lady-tribe together over brunch on the first day of school, in hopes it would make sending my baby off a little easier.  We would spend the day together until it was time for pickup, and let me tell you, it made a BIG difference in making the day a little less hard.  We continued this tradition even after I moved to Hollyhock.

As our kids grew older and were separated by the school zoning changes, our tribe began to shift.  However, by that point, I'd grown to have many wonderful friends here.  I decided to "pass the torch" on this tradition and birth it for Hollyhock.  With the help of our neighbor, and my friend, Jessica Peterson we have improved upon it year after year.

Each year our group gets bigger and each year the friendships get stronger.  Smiles, laughter, stories, sisterhood, new friendships, and bonding are all words I would use to describe it.  Top it off with a brunch board by RaynbowEats (but really it's a table, because you know Ray Bray can't help herself!!) for the morning portion; with tacos and empanadas by La Gran Empanada for the afternoon and it's a day of food and fellowship.

So, as we embark on our new year I say no tears and all the cheers to you all!
