Smart Carts is a local, family-owned and operated company, that values producing quality custom tailored golf carts at competitive prices. The original retail shop located at 757 Latiolais Drive in Breaux Bridge and the newly completed showroom, conveniently located at 208 Centre Sarcelle Boulevard in Youngsville are fully stocked with both new and used carts of all shapes, sizes, and colors. You'll find carts ready to go for your individual needs, from golf course cruisers to neighborhood joy-riders, from campground wanderers to worksite helpers.
Matthew and Jandy Tyl founded Smart Carts of LA, LLC in 2012 with the goal of serving the local golf cart market that had been at a standstill for years. The name of the business was chosen to be a nod to Mrs. Tyl’s 20-year profession as an educator and highlights their commitment to educating consumers who are always urged to gather information before purchasing.
From humble beginnings, the business grew and created a niche market. The vision was clear; the couple recognized a need for high-quality golf carts at a fair price. As word of mouth spread, Smart Carts was no longer a one-man operation. The business hired several employees and moved to its second location.
In 2017, Smart Carts purchased two acres of commercial property off of I-10 and built a 4,500-square-foot retail and service facility. Seeing steady growth in the market, Smart Carts continues to march forward. With over a decade of industry experience and counting, the goal is to leverage the knowledge and skill set gained to continually innovate and find ways to better serve customers.
Smart Carts’ most recent venture is manufacturing their very own brand, the Smart Cart Golf Cart. Expanding to another 4500 sqft manufacturing facility whose sole purpose is to produce one of the most powerful golf carts on the market. Loaded with power and speed, the Smart Cart also has cutting-edge Bluetooth technology, with upgraded features throughout. Within seconds of opening the app, the cart’s 600 amp controller and 5KW motor can be adjusted to your preference. Bigger, better, high-quality golf carts at the best prices!

The most common misconception among shoppers? Golf carts versus LSEV (Low-Speed Electric Vehicles). Any golf cart can be fitted to come with a variety of safety features, like signal lights, mirrors, and seatbelts. LSEVs take it a step further and have a metal license plate like other road-worthy vehicles. Similar, but from two different product categories.
