Nadal's Canine Chronicles: A Tale of Three Poodles

One seasoned veteran and two rambunctious pups share their Tanoan adventures

Hi! I'm Nadal, the elder of our canine clan. At 12 years old, I've seen it all in our Albuquerque
household. Named after a tennis legend, I may not have a backhand yet, but I could if I wanted
to!

Life was pretty quiet until 2020 when my parents, still mourning their previous "most precious
dog ever," decided to fill the void with not one, but two rambunctious pups. Enter Rafa and
Guga, my younger brothers from Nebraska.

Now, don't get me wrong – I love them, but, well, let’s just say they keep us entertained. Rafa's
the wild child, always looking for an escape route. He once broke his kneecap before he was
even three months old! And Guga? Let's just say he's had a few midnight trips to the emergency vet thanks to his chocolate-covered raisin addiction.

Our days are filled with backyard races, barking conversations with the neighborhood dogs
(especially that cute Pekingese next door), and the occasional doggy playdate. I've mellowed
with age, preferring to curl up and watch TV with mom and dad. My brothers though? They're
always up to something.

Rafa fancies himself an explorer, dashing out the front door whenever he gets the chance. He
thinks it's hilarious to lead mom and dad on a wild goose chase around the block. Guga's got his own talents – he can jump on his hind legs like a circus performer and spin faster than a tornado.

Despite our differences, we're a tight-knit pack. We may not hit the dog parks, but our big yard is the perfect playground. And when the day is done, nothing beats snuggling up with our parents.

Sure, I might grumble now and then, but I wouldn't trade this life for all the tennis balls in the
world. We're loved, we're spoiled, and we're never alone. Plus, I get to be the old wise one,
showing these two the ropes – like how to properly bark at the mailman or the best spots for
afternoon naps.

So if you see us out on a walk, come say hello! Just don't be surprised if Rafa tries to race you or if Guga starts spinning. As for me? I'll be right there, keeping an eye on my little brothers and
basking in the love of our family.
