Love in Full Bloom: The McLaughlin Family's Heartfelt Harmony at Tapatio Springs
Meet the McLaughlin family—Amy, Andrew, and Vivienne—residents of 109 Towne View Circle in Tapatio Springs. Their household includes a furry friend, Bogart, a lovable dog. Andrew and Amy moved to Houston, Texas, in 2013 and later settled in Boerne in 2019. They've been part of the Tapatio Springs community for four years.
Amy and Andrew have been happily married for 22 years. They initially crossed paths in Tampa, Florida, in 1999, tying the knot in St. Petersburg in 2001. Their shared journey has led them to explore Italy and various parts of the United States. Vivienne, their eight-year old daughter, attends 2nd grade at Geneva School of Boerne. Her interests range from creative endeavors with Legos to horseback riding and golf with her dad.
As a family, they relish the joy of travel, having recently explored New York City in February. Vivienne's highlights included the subway and ice skating in Central Park. Outdoor activities like hiking and leisurely rides in their golf cart through the neighborhood also fills their family time, fostering a strong sense of connection.
Amy, a veteran Elementary teacher with 23 years of experience in Texas and Florida, recently transitioned to private tutoring, allowing her more time with family. Andrew, a Licensed Land Surveyor for over 20 years, holds licenses in eight states. His earned his degree in Geomatics from the University of Florida. He thrived on the exciting blend of historical research, critical analysis, and working outdoors with cutting-edge mapping technologies. He has taken on diverse projects from hydrographic surveys in the Cayman Islands and Dominican Republic to cave construction layouts in the Tx. Hill Country, and boundary surveys for expansive ranches. This journey continues to fuel his passion for exploring the latest technology in his field.
Amy finds inspiration in the faces of children lighting up as they learn something new. Andrew, too, is fueled by a love for continuous learning. Amy actively engages with the community through volunteering at Geneva School of Boerne and participating in local chapters of Bible Study Fellowship and Mops/Moms Next.
Their perfect day involves quality family time, whether riding the golf cart around the course or hiking in the picturesque Hill Country. When not immersed in family and work, the McLaughlin’s enjoy strolling down Boerne's main street, supporting local businesses, or enjoying a nice peaceful afternoon at the Tapatio Clubhouse for a bite.
Choosing Tapatio Springs was an instinctive decision for the McLaughlin family when they arrived in Boerne. The tight-knit community, golfing, resort pool days, and the plethora of events have all contributed to the family feeling right at home. Grateful for the camaraderie and experiences in their unique Boerne haven, the McLaughlin’s cherish the bonds formed in their hidden niche of Tapatio Springs.
