Kid-preneurs Declan, Ralph and Beckett
Fundraisier for "Ball to All"
Declan Courtney, a resident of Tarrington, embarked on a summer business venture as a budding entrepreneur along with his friends Ralph and Beckett. Both Ralph and Beckett reside in nearby neighborhoods within the Robious district, fostering a close-knit bond outside of school and soccer.
Their entrepreneurial journey began with brainstorming marketable ideas suitable for their community. After careful consideration, they settled on crafting and selling candles. With the initial investment provided by Beckett's father, Steve Leighty, the trio meticulously planned their business strategy. They calculated essential metrics such as the break-even point and unit costs, and devised their sales plans.
The young entrepreneurs produced a total of 160 candles and have successfully sold more than a third of their inventory to date. Motivated not only by profit but also by a desire to give back, they decided to allocate 5% of their sales proceeds to a charitable cause. After researching various organizations, they chose to support Ball to All, an initiative dedicated to distributing soccer balls to children worldwide. Their contribution aims to promote physical activity, health, and positivity among youth, aligning closely with their shared passion for soccer and community engagement.
To support their business venture and contribute to their chosen charity, interested individuals can order candles directly from Declan Courtney by emailing declancourtney10@gmail.com. Every purchase not only supports local entrepreneurship but also contributes to a cause that resonates deeply with the young entrepreneurs' values and aspirations.
Their initiative underscores the spirit of youth entrepreneurship, community involvement, and philanthropy, setting a commendable example within their neighborhood and beyond.
