Whether you're planning for retirement, saving for college for children or grandchildren, or just trying to protect the financial future of the ones you care for the most, as a financial advisor, I’m committed to helping my clients develop specific strategies to achieve their financial goals and dreams.
I grew up in the neighboring community of Joliet, where I attended grade school at the Cathedral of St. Raymond before graduating from Joliet Catholic Academy. My mother, Billie, worked at Silver Cross Hospital for nearly 30 years before retiring as vice president. My father, Jack, retired from his position as a high school administrator in Indiana but spent the majority of his teaching and coaching years at Joliet Catholic High School. I feel a great sense of pride when someone tells me that my dad and/or my grandfather, Gordie Gillespie, made a significant impact in their life during their time at Joliet Catholic. Seeing the impact my family has made in other people's lives has made me strive to be the person I am today in hopes that I am able to make an impact in someone else's life.

I relocated to my wife Tristin's hometown of Plainfield in 2008, where her family has been deeply connected for many years. I have twin stepdaughters, Rachel and Ashley, and a stepson, Logan. They are all graduates of Plainfield South High School and are now in the early stages of their careers.
I have worked in the financial services industry since 2006 and began my position at Edward Jones in 2012. Before starting a career with Edward Jones, I spent time working for MetLife and Northwestern Mutual. Prior to my financial services career, I worked in the medical field at Silver Cross Hospital ER as an emergency room technician.
I am very active in the local community, holding board positions as past president of the Plainfield Shorewood Area Chamber of Commerce, chairman of the Plainfield Legacy Fund Advisory Council, and a member of the Community Foundation of Will County board of directors. I also previously served as president of the Joliet Catholic Academy Alumni Association and a member of the United Way of Will County Impact and Investment Council.
As an Edward Jones financial advisor, I believe it’s important to invest my time in understanding what my clients are working towards before investing their hard-earned money. It's also important to understand the level of risk they're comfortable accepting when investing, so I can balance it with the steps necessary to reach their long-term goals.
When I sit down with a client, I practice the Golden Rule: Treat others as you would want to be treated. I understand that finances and estate considerations can seem complicated and overwhelming to people. I take pride in explaining each step and topic to people in simple, understandable terms. Oftentimes, I'm asked, "Would you do this if it was your or your family's money?" Whenever I make a recommendation to anyone, I ask several questions to find out their goals, past experiences, level of risk tolerance, and several other questions that allow me to offer a personalized solution. This is how I would want to be treated if I were a client, and I keep that in mind every single day in every interaction with my clients.

I enjoy working with people who want to carefully and thoughtfully work towards financial goals that range from preparing for or living in retirement to sending a child/children to college to estate considerations. I also believe very strongly, in giving back to the community, so assisting in philanthropic/charitable giving is another area that I enjoy working with clients on. I've found that no two scenarios are the same, and neither are the approaches for achieving those goals.
Whether you have specific financial objectives in mind — planning for retirement, creating a college savings strategy, or perhaps even opening your own business — or you're just learning what options are best for wealth-building or investments, Edward Jones has a comprehensive suite of investment products and services to help you turn your goals into a reality.
