Natalie and Jack McDonald: The Faces Behind "Into the West" Furnishings

Jack and Natalie McDonald, former longtime residents of Keller, moved to The Resort two years ago. They have three grown children: Megan (35), William (33), and Baxter (31). They also have two grandchildren, Jude, who is 3 years old, and Poppy, who is 2. The family is exceptionally close-knit, and they work together daily. Fun fact: Jack and Natalie are high school sweethearts. They enjoy spending nights out in the stockyards and beach time in Cabo San Lucas, but their favorite pastime is spending time with family!

Both Natalie and Jack are Texas Tech alumni and have spent over 40 years being self-employed. Their journey in the furniture industry began in 1994, and since then, they have continually evolved their business to offer high-end, luxury furniture. They have crafted a unique niche in the world of home furnishings with their store, Into the West. The McDonalds have built their reputation on providing exquisite, hand-crafted pieces made from reclaimed wood, hammered copper, and natural travertine stone. Jack says, “We also offer a lot more than just rustic/western furniture.”

Into the West is a testament to the McDonald family's commitment to quality and personal service. With over three decades in the industry, their store specializes in unique, custom-made furniture that stands the test of time. Their offerings include custom pieces, design services, nationwide white-glove delivery, layaway, and financing.

What truly sets Into the West apart is the McDonald family's dedication to making each customer feel like part of their extended family. Visitors to the store can enjoy a relaxed atmosphere with a working bar, fresh chocolate chip cookies baked by Mimi, and the opportunity to catch up on the latest sports games. The McDonalds invite locals and visitors alike to drop by, even if they’re not in the market for furniture, to experience their warm hospitality.

In addition to their unparalleled customer service, Into the West is known for its competitive pricing and custom design capabilities. Whether customers envision a piece of furniture or need a specific design, the McDonalds are dedicated to bringing those dreams to life. Natalie says, “If you can dream it, we can build it.”

The store's historic location adds a unique charm to the shopping experience. In 2016, the McDonald family acquired and renovated a historic Fort Worth building dating back to 1904. This building, which once served as both a bank and a brothel, now houses Into the West and carries with it a rich and colorful past.

The McDonalds encourages everyone in The Resort to visit their store and meet the entire family. A family business through and through, the McDonalds aspires for its kids to carry out its legacy! They believe in supporting local businesses and invite residents to experience the exceptional service and craftsmanship that Into the West offers.
