Aiden Rosales: A Saxophone Enthusiast with a Passion for Music and Teaching

Aiden Rosales, a 17-year-old student in the 12th grade at Boswell High School, is a dedicated musician with a deep love for the saxophone. Living in The Resort with his parents, Sarah and Robert Rosales, bonus parents - Shara and Ezra, and siblings Ana (14) and Abram (11), Aiden has made a name for himself in the school's music program.

Aiden's passion for music, particularly the saxophone, has been a driving force in his life. While he started on alto saxophone, he now plays the baritone saxophone in marching, concert, and jazz bands. He also dabbles with the alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, clarinet, and flute. This love for music has not only provided him with a creative outlet but also helps him manage his ADHD, making him feel focused and happy.

Music takes up a significant portion of Aiden's life. He spends much of his free time playing video games, hanging out with friends, and, of course, playing the saxophone. The sound of sax jazz music often fills his room, creating a lively atmosphere at home. Aiden's interest in music began in the 5th grade when he tried out for various instruments and eventually convinced his director to let him play the alto saxophone despite initially testing best on low brass instruments.

In addition to his musical pursuits, Aiden enjoys skiing with his family during the winter months. He not only loves the thrill of skiing but also takes pleasure in teaching others, especially young kids, by sharing tips and tricks on the slopes. This willingness to help others extends beyond skiing; his family describes him as a kind, goofy individual who loves to make people laugh and would do anything to help someone out.

Aiden's involvement in the band is extensive, participating in marching band, concert band, and jazz band. His dedication has led to significant achievements, such as placing 3rd in the area jazz band and most outstanding soloist in the May competition. Additionally, Aiden plays in the highly renowned Texas Jazz All Stars, where he plays professional-level jazz and big band music along with other Region/State level teen performers. They practice during their school breaks and perform around the DFW area during those breaks. For his birthday, he had the unforgettable experience of attending the all-state marching band competition, where he witnessed the top bands in Texas perform.

Aiden's favorite subject in school is English, primarily because he enjoys the teacher. When he's not immersed in his studies or music, he likes to hang out in the band hall, a place that has become a second home for him. In fact, he won an “award” for “Student who needs to start paying rent” for band this year because he’s in the band hall so much. His future aspirations include becoming a music teacher to pass on his passion for music to others, particularly his brother Abram, who he hopes will follow in his musical footsteps.

Aiden Rosales is a testament to the power of music in shaping a young person's life. His dedication, kindness, and ambition make him a standout individual with a promising future in music education.
