Meet Hattie Branch-Evans

A Young Adventurer with a Big Heart

Eight-year-old Hattie Branch-Evans has lived in her neighborhood since the day she was born. A second grader, Hattie loves spending time outdoors, whether it’s walking around the ponds and lakes with her family, riding bikes, swimming in the pools, or enjoying local parades, festivals, and fireworks.

Hattie’s adventurous spirit shines through in her favorite activities. Camping tops her list because it brings together all the things she loves most: hiking, biking, swimming, and kayaking with her family. She also likes traveling to the Florida and Alabama beaches, where she plays in the sun and sand. At home, she channels her creativity into building large Lego houses and playing with her Barbies. Her love for animals is evident in the special bond she shares with her dog, Scout, and her cat, Miss MoneyPenny, who follows her everywhere! Hattie also enjoys horseback riding and swimming, two activities that have led her to some exciting achievements.

Despite her young age, Hattie has already racked up an impressive list of accomplishments. She has won “Best in Show” at two horse shows and placed second in the 50-meter run at the 2024 LEISD Special Olympics. One of her proudest moments came during her kindergarten year when she received the “Heart of the School” award from the police department. She has also been recognized with the LEISD STAR award, an honor that celebrates students who demonstrate outstanding character and leadership.

When asked about someone she admires, Hattie’s answer is simple and heartfelt: her mom. Her love and admiration for her mother are clear, reflecting the strong bond they share.

Looking ahead, Hattie dreams of becoming an elementary school teacher, inspired by her own teachers, Mrs. D. and Mrs. Fillebrown. With her love for learning, adventure, and helping others, she is sure to make a wonderful teacher one day.

When she’s not exploring the outdoors or excelling in school and sports, Hattie enjoys indulging in her favorite things; french fries, dog movies, and, of course, recess! Whether she’s camping under the stars, playing with her beloved pets, or dreaming about her future classroom, Hattie Branch-Evans is a young girl with a bright future ahead.
