Meet the Challenger family: Bill, Tiffany, Bella, Billy, Archie, and Rosie, who recently relocated to Thornwood from Victor, New York in October 2023. Victor, NY is a beautiful village in the finger lakes located in upstate New York with great food, hiking trails, wineries and, of course, lakes for kayaking and swimming.

Bill and Tiffany met 14-years-ago, when they both worked at Verizon. They had both recently moved to the same area of New York for promotions, and were both adjusting to an area they didn't know. They began to explore the area together and became fast friends. After a few months of sampling everything from restaurants to bike trails, they realized they found more than just friendship...and they have been together ever since.

The Challengers are an adventurous and tightly-knit family who enjoy exploring new places, trying new activities, and spending quality time together.

Bill Challenger is a Director at Verizon, a position that prompted their move to the Midwest for his promotion at the company's Rolling Meadows headquarters.
Tiffany Challenger, a stay-at-home mom, she runs a successful photography business, Tiffany Fotography, volunteers at her children’s schools, and occasionally substitute teaches.

Bella, their 11-year-old daughter, is an energetic and creative spirit. She loves swimming, crafting, playing with friends, riding her bike, video games, and rock climbing. One of her favorite pastimes is creating mini storybooks. This fall, Bella will be starting 6th grade at Wredling Middle School.

Billy, their nine-year-old son, shares his sister’s enthusiasm for swimming and video games. He also enjoys flag football, baseball, and playing with friends. Billy will be entering 4th grade at Wild Rose Elementary School this coming fall.

Archie and Rosie, the family's lovable golden doodles, add extra joy to the Challenger household. Archie, a five-year-old golden doodle, loves taking walks and playing ball, while Rosie, a three-year-old black golden doodle, enjoys cuddling and running laps in the yard.

The Challengers have a passion for travel, with Hawaii, California, and Disney Parks being their favorite destinations. They balance exploring new locations with revisiting these top spots every other vacation. Family game nights are a cherished tradition, with board games and multiplayer video games like Mario Party bringing everyone together. Recently, they’ve been enjoying family walks in the nice weather and exploring the vibrant Chicago area, known for its variety of restaurants and attractions.

Having moved to Illinois in October 2023, the Challengers have settled into their new home. They appreciate the proximity to major retailers and local shops and restaurants in Geneva and St. Charles. Their favorite dining spots include Gia Mia, Livia, Ella, Lao & Thai, Poke Bros., and Pita BBQ, with Nosh in Geneva being a top breakfast choice.

Living near Chicago has been an exciting and busy experience for the family. They’ve attended a Bears game, visited the Shedd Aquarium, the Museum of Science and Industry, Navy Pier, Lincoln Park Zoo, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Starbucks Reserve Roastery. Upcoming summer plans include a Cubs game, the Field Museum, the Brookfield Zoo, and Millennium Park.

The Challengers have found the local community welcoming and friendly, enjoying the beautiful surroundings, biking trails, our pool and sports core. They look forward to making new friends and creating more wonderful memories together.
