For the past decade, Nina Sigalos has been a beloved resident of Thornwood, contributing to the warmth of our neighborhood. "I absolutely love our neighborhood," Nina shares. "It's amazing for raising children, with highlights like the community pool, the wetlands path for walks, numerous parks, walking distance to shopping, and having an elementary school right here."

Nina’s professional journey is as impressive as her dedication to Thornwood. With a background in the real estate and furniture industry, she spent ten years in a corporate office, wearing many hats and discovering her passion for bookkeeping. "I really enjoyed the organizational aspect of bookkeeping," Nina recalls. This passion followed her into the construction industry, where she managed job costs, financial records, and business expenses for multiple projects.

Currently, Nina applies her expertise as a bookkeeper for a small business in St. Charles specializing in the print and mail industry. Her role is vital, ensuring the company's financial records are meticulously maintained. "I love that I can work from anywhere as long as I have a laptop," Nina explains. "As a solo parent, flexibility is key so I can be there for my children when needed."

Nina’s commitment to professional development is evident through her recent certification as a QuickBooks Pro Advisor. This certification, which requires annual re-certification, keeps her updated with the latest features and updates in bookkeeping software.

Beyond her professional life, Nina is an active volunteer at St. Pat's Parish, where she has assisted with administrative duties in the office for the religious education program. Her community spirit and dedication are truly inspiring.
