What are your favorite activities and hobbies? We both love to travel internationally and have visited more than 30 countries.  We recently returned from our third trip to Africa on safari in Namibia which was full of desert-adapted wild animals and diverse landscapes throughout the country.  Being able to track rhinos on foot was one of the highlights of our trip.  The next trip is going to be to the Galapagos Islands next Spring.

What is your favorite hangout spot? We love to talk our dogs to the Ft. DeSoto dog beach in the evenings to experience the beautiful sunsets and let Zeus splash in the Gulf while Olive chases the birds and tries to avoid other dogs on the beach.

What are your favorite local restaurants? We head to The Deck for casual lunch, Sea Worthy in our neighborhood for dinner during the week as weekends are typically too busy, and then downtown and Tampa for weekend dinners when we aren’t grilling at home.  Steuart is a grill master and his dishes are wonderful!

Best Family Vacation destination? African safaris and the James Bond trip to Europe we took right before COVID to visit countries where the movie franchise was filmed.  It was lots of fun.  I also gave Steuart a birthday present in Monaco which was driving both a Ferrari and Lamborghini through the streets of Monaco – I was voted best wife that year!

Favorite sports teams? I watch the European premiere soccer leagues (EPL, Serie A, la Liga, etc.) and we both like to watch World Cup qualifying matches.  Recently have a party at our place to celebrate the final World Cup match France v. Argentina (Argentina won in a penalty shootout).

Favorite TV show/Movie?  Steu loves James Bond movies and I also enjoy action thrillers and suspense movies.

 

How did you meet?  Blind date as we both worked in the same building in Rockville, Maryland and a mutual friend set us up on a date that never ended.

 

Do you have any family traditions?  We try to visit my parents in Pennsylvania for the holidays and have been invited to join friends here in Tierra Verde for holidays when we don’t travel up north.  Friends here are so welcoming and a joy to be with.

 

What college/university did you attend?  I went to American University in Washington, DC and Steuart attended the University of Maryland.

 

Where are you originally from?  We both lived in Maryland when we met and recently moved to Tiera Verde 2 ½ years ago.

What do you like to do to relax?  We both enjoy walking our dogs, working out at a local gym, spa time with friends, entertaining friends at our place and planning for our next vacation.

 

How are you involved in the community?  I joined the Tierra Verde Women’s Club last year and serve on the board as the social co-chair. I plan to stay on the board next year in Membership. Steuart has helped neighbors with renovation recommendations and suggestions as he knows so many contractors and basically was our general contractor for our 2-year renovation after we moved into our home in Tierra Verde.

What is your favorite part about living in Tierra Verde?  We enjoy our friends we have met, the beach, the weather, the plethora of activities to enjoy which includes the local art shows and entertainment in downtown St. Pete and Tampa, and outdoor concerts that have been a lot of fun.
