MAMMA MIA! Here we go again... with another Masconomet Regional High School

Theatre Company update! Between May 17th and 18th, the company performed the ABBA

jukebox musical three times, selling out twice! It was a huge success, and I could not be more

pleased with the outcome. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to dance, sing, and share the stage with many talented people; I will never forget it. I want to give a shoutout to Mr. Brian Pereira-Coelho, our amazing director and choreographer. We could not have pulled off this show in two months without him! 

Not only was this show a hit onstage but in the auditorium lobby as well. Masconomet

student members of the National Art Honors Society contributed paintings of Greece (going

along with the setting of Mamma Mia!) for display, and auctioned them off in a fundraising

event.

I have been performing in theatre for years, playing various roles throughout my

acting career. However, nothing can compare to how this show has impacted my life. Mamma Mia! will have a place in my heart forever for having the opportunity to play my dream role of Sophie!

Sheridan was surreal, and I am so thankful to everyone who supported me

throughout this show. Working with my fellow cast members was such a blessing! What an

amazing way to end the year! To our incredible seniors: Áine, Daniel, Aidan, Quinn, Keely,

Nora, Max, and Athena; thank you so much for the beautiful legacy you have created for our

theatre company. I know I speak for more than myself alone when I say you will be greatly

missed in the years to come.

The theatre company’s production of Mamma Mia! was nominated for six METG (Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild) musical theatre awards.

They are as follows: Best Overall Production, Best Acting Ensemble, Best Choral Ensemble,

Best Performance in a Supporting Role: Quinn Tierney, Best Costume Design, and Best Scenic

Design. The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony in the following weeks.
