Finding Travisso was a Happy Accident!

Being fairly new to Travisso, our neighbors Oscar Zamora and his fiancé, Liezet Cepeda, are looking forward to getting plugged in!  The couple both hail from South Texas and share a modern day love story that began on a dating app. Their first date was a memorable story for more reasons than one in that Oscar, caught up in a series of delays, arrived late. He still recalls the anxiety of rushing to meet Liezet, fearing she might leave, but to his relief, she waited for him…and the rest is history.

Despite experiencing ups and downs like any new couple, Oscar and Liezet have a unique bond that sets them apart. What makes their relationship special is how well they complement each other. Oscar acknowledges he has many flaws, but Liezet accepts them and continually challenges him to think differently about life. It sounds like Oscar will make a great husband realizing this early on!

About a year ago, the couple moved from a rental property in Cedar Park to their current home in Travisso. Initially, they were just looking for a place to rent, but instead stumbled upon a beautiful home in our neighborhood. They fell in love with the stunning scenery, welcoming community, and especially their neighbors, who have become an integral part of their daily lives.

The decision to move here was driven by the sense of belonging that Travisso exudes and it felt like the perfect place to call home for Oscar and Liezet. Every morning as Oscar leaves for the day, and every afternoon when he returns, he makes it a point to show his appreciation for this wonderful neighborhood.

On a professional note, Oscar's work with Texas A&M University AgriLife Extension in nutritional education aims to uplift and empower the underserved communities in and around Travis County, providing them with essential knowledge and resources for better health. Liezet's role as a practicing family medicine physician at Baylor Scott and White underscores her commitment to comprehensive, compassionate healthcare.

Their family is completed with five four-legged and furry children: Charlie, their three-year-old bulldog, Timmy, an eight-year-old Pomeranian, Benny, an eight-year-old basset hound, Lily, a twelve-year-old Yorkie, and Winston, their eight-year-old cat.

In their spare time, the couple prioritizes staying active daily, engaging in a diverse range of activities such as weight lifting, brisk walking, yoga sessions, and occasional runs.  Taking in a walk around the neighborhood and talking to neighbors is a valued pastime of theirs, too. Sometimes, they simply enjoy each other's company at home with their animal companions. Watching scary movies is one of their favorite ways to relax.

Oscar and Liezet love to travel, with regularly revisiting their favorite destinations of Catalina Islands in California and St. Augustine in Florida. Outside of the USA, the couple have hopes to explore Spain, Greece, and Italy in the future, destinations that have captivated their imaginations with their vibrant cultures, stunning landscapes, and delicious cuisines. You can’t miss them if they are out on a neighborhood walk. When you see them, they welcome you to introduce yourself and say “hi”!
