When Will met his future wife Gwen, she was a dog-mom to a senior English Lab named Boomer named after former Ohio State quarterback, Boomer Esiason. Her Boom Boy was one of a kind and he opened Will's heart to the endless, unconditional love that only a dog can give. Will’s time with Boomer was cut far too short when he passed away on December 29, 2022.

 

They took time to grieve knowing Boomer could never be replaced but they missed having a four-legged child running around the house. When they saw an English Lab puppy on Instagram, they were smitten at first sight. Within a moment of meeting the puppy, he laid right down on Will’s foot. That was it for them and he has been laying on their feet ever since. 

Bear is very social and high energy which is the opposite of Boomer. He would swim and play fetch all day long if they would let him. He keeps them on their toes but has the sweetest heart and loves to cuddle.  Bear is also very loyal and protective of his “sisters”, Laney and Riley. The family tries to take him on multiple walks per day so don’t be scared of his mohawk along his back when passing by . . . it just means he’s excited!
