The Arpin Family's Wedgewood Golf & Country Club Story

Jeff and Chris Arpin at the Derby Party

Chris and Jeff Arpin moved to Powell in November 2004 and immediately began searching for a club that would offer activities for adults and their two sons, who were seven and nine then. After exploring and playing four courses in the area, the decision was evident from a golf perspective—they joined Wedgewood Golf & Country Club in December 2004. Their first full summer at the club was filled with fun at the pool, including Swim Team for their boys, and they quickly formed friendships, many of which stemmed from Jeff’s new golfing connections.

Recognizing how much time Jeff spent on the course, Chris soon realized that if she wanted to see him on the weekends, she should learn to play golf. Lessons followed, and both of their boys participated in Junior Golf, which they continued as Junior Members for several years after college.

Now, twenty years later, Chris has developed a deep passion for the game and the vibrant social life that comes with it. She is an active member of the Ladies’ 18-hole league on Tuesdays, a weekly highlight filled with camaraderie and friendly competition. To this day, Wedgewood remains a place where some of the nicest, most fun, and caring people come together. While the club has seen many physical changes over the past two decades, its strong sense of community and social atmosphere remain constant and continue to impress.

The club’s management is dedicated to enhancing the member experience, offering a variety of activities such as Clam Bakes, Wine Tastings, Theme Dinners, Derby Day, Queen of Hearts Night, Holiday Parties, and the spectacular Fourth of July Extravaganza. However, for the Arpins, the heart of Wedgewood has always been its people. Many of their closest and most enduring friendships began at the club, making it a true blessing for their entire family.

For those new to the Wedgewood community, the Arpins encourage considering membership at WGCC. The club's spectacular golf course, recently renovated, is quickly becoming a local favorite. Beyond golf, the club offers tennis, pickleball, a pool, and a newly renovated workout facility. The social experience at Wedgewood is unmatched—there is nothing quite like a summer evening dinner with live music on the Veranda, surrounded by friends and overlooking one of the most picturesque golf courses in the area.

Chris and Jeff Arpin look forward to enjoying another twenty years of cherished moments at Wedgewood Golf & Country Club.
