The company has five trolleys in total that run all the way from Boca Grande, northward to Tampa. They serve as a private means of transportation which can be utilized in countless ways. Some examples of possibilities are experiences like weddings, hauling wedding parties and guests to and from venues and hotels. Similarly, they are often used to and from local sunset cruises, pub crawls, private food tours, girls’ nights, and even book clubs. You can bring along your own accompaniments, whether those be cheeseboards and wine or a playlist and a karaoke machine. The interiors are decorated specific to the respective seasons and occasions, with touches like beautiful flowers and lights. Owners Rachel and Corey recently purchased the trolleys in January of this year. This past Christmas season, the two took advantage of a Christmas Light Tour- an opportunity offered each year. It was so much fun for their family of three young kids. They saw how much joy that experience brought to all involved as they watched the beautifully decorated homes along the way.  When the opportunity recently arose to make the business their own, they ceased it! Furthermore, Rachel’s niece, Megan, an Auburn University student, aspires to become an event coordinator once she graduates. This decision has given Megan the opportunity to both find work and help it grow, as well as prepare for her future career. “We love to be part of someone’s special day and help create lasting memories”, Rachel said.

 

Many drivers who work for the company have loved their roles so much that they have stuck around for a decade or more. A fan-favorite driver, Sigfried, otherwise known as “Siggi”, is also the staff supervisor. He has been in his role for seventeen years now. He serves as a school bus driver by day, in addition to his role with SRQ Trolley. Many return over and over just to see him again.  “I like to say that I have my little angels on the school bus, and my big angels on the trolleys! I love my job. It is truly a pleasure to do this kind of work. I love seeing people so happy and hearing about the special things they remember. I don’t see it as work. I feel like I am part of the party! I love being remembered. I love having fun with the passengers and playing all the right music. Throughout the years doing Christmas tours, I have made great relationships with the owners of the homes we display. I love telling their stories. It shows the heart behind the decorations. Kids sip hot chocolate as we all sing Christmas songs. It is wonderful to meet brides and grooms, and all others alike. We really take care of all the equipment and our guests. We respect the wishes of all individuals. Everyone is welcome. I am also happy to say that my drivers and I have been treated by both the old and new owners with nothing but respect. The change in ownership proves to be positive, and I have no doubt that our same special traditions will continue for years to come.”
