January 10, 2025 - 7:00pm-9:00pm - Free Music Friday Night Concert - Enjoy music by Johnny Rawls. Guests are asked to bring their own chairs and blankets, no alcohol permitted. Free admission, located at Centennial Park.

 

January 11, 2025 - 7:00am-1:00pm - Sarasota Half Marathon - Only marathon in Sarasota, 10K and 5K. There will be awards in all age groups, medals, food, and music. Entry fees vary: $40-$85. Located at 4081 Lakewood Ranch Blvd.

 

January 11-12, 2025 - 10:00am-5:00pm - 11th Annual Sarasota Winter Fine Art Festival - Art viewings made by 120 of America’s top artists. Including: paintings, jewelry, sculpting, photography, woodwork, glass, and much more. Free admission. Located at Hamel Park at Gulfstream and Mainstreet.

 

January 16-20, 2025 - 5:00pm-10:00pm - Sarasota Winter Carnival - Fun for the whole family, featuring rides, games, carnival food, trucks, beer samples, and vendors. Free admission and parking. Located at University Town Center, east side of Urban Outfitters.

January 23, 2025 - 2:00pm - Hero of History Event - Historical Society of Sarasota County awards Dolly Jacobs and Pedro Reis “Heroes of History”. A luncheon will be hosted in celebration, as well as a speech of proclamation by the mayor. Tickets are $100, and the theme is circus. Located at Michael’s on East.

 

February 1, 2025 - 9:00am-1:00pm - Sparkly Saturday - Come join the fun for a huge sale of costume jewelry at a bargain price, thanks to Linnea Appleby. The jewelry sale is in the Crocker Memorial Church. There will also be a designer tag sale, thanks to Jerry Chesley, on the porch of the Bidwell-Wood house. Admission is free.
