Historic McClellan Park
Preserving a Home's Character

Original Living Room
Originally built in 1941, the home and guest home were substantially remodeled in 2012 to incorporate the best of old and new. Located on a quiet street and large corner lot in historic McClellan Park, West of the Trail, and just yards from Southside Village shops and restaurant. The homes character was beautifully preserved by locally renowned builder Sam Dickson through the vision of Architect Tatiana White. Adorned with original pecky cypress paneling on the exterior and some walls on the interior, it feels like a new home with large entertaining spaces and high ceilings. A fabulous chef's kitchen with quartz countertops flows effortlessly to the open a living and dining areas and views the pool and rear gardens. The master suite addition is thoughtfully appointed with a large private garden patio and a sumptuous spa-like master bathroom. On the opposite side of the home are two extra bedrooms and a remodeled bathroom, wonderful for guests or to make the home a family residence. The outdoor dining area overlooks the recently added saltwater pool and spa and the detached guest home/studio has a full bath. The park-like feeling of McClellan Park is enhanced by paved sidewalks, shade trees and flowering shrubs, just as Misses Katherine and Daisy McClellan envisioned when they established their new development in 1916. Pooling their money, they acquired 56 acres of property on the south end of Orange Avenue. Back then, Sarasota had about 4,000 residents and the sisters thought the timing was good to provide a new community garden spot. Now it is is the new haven for a couple that lost their home to Hurricane Milton. A pleasant surprise after moving in was neighbors stopping by with welcome treats and introductions. Welcome to McClellan Park!!
