Meet Abigail Workman, A Multi-Talented Bookworm
Abigail Workman is 10 years old, lives in Wildhorse and has two siblings; Graham and Elizabeth Workman. She goes to school at Chesterfield Elementary (CES). Even when school is out, Abigail loves reading. She has many favorite books, a few of them being Keeper of the Lost Cities, by Shannon Messenger, Out of My Mind and Out of My Heart, by Sharon M. Draper, The Miscalculations of Lighting Girl, by Stacy McAnulty, Land of Stories, by Chris Colfer, City Spies, by James Ponti, Fish in a Tree, by Lynda Mullaly Hunt, and many, many more.
She loves reading so much, she decided to try out for the Battle of the Books team through school. Later in the day (the same day she took her test), Mr. Brim (CES’s librarian) notified her that she made the team along with two of her friends, Alyssa Wang and Shan Zhou.
When Abigail’s nose isn’t in a book, she might be on the volleyball court. Abigail plays for the Oreos. Her favorite part of the game is the satisfying feeling after a good serve or bump. Abigail started playing volleyball when fourth grade started. After a long game, Abigail enjoys taking a break, but her idea of a break may not be the same as yours. You can find her by the oven, baking. She loves making cookies, cupcakes, and cake.
When Abigail’s on vacation, she likes chilling at the beach, especially the Hawaiian beaches. In August, 2022, Abigail and her family went to Hawai’i. She would spend almost all day lying on the beach in the sun, reading!
Abigail loves eating ice cream and enjoys listening to Taylor Swift. I know that many people enjoy the same things as Abigail (especially the Swifties out there) ice cream being one of the top sweet treats in America.
Whether she’s getting lost in a new book or in action playing volleyball, Abigail is always ready for everything and anything!
