Seeing With the Heart

Bailey's Journey

In February 2017, our lives were forever changed when we welcomed Bailey, affectionately known as Bertie, into our home. This 9-year-old Brittany mix quickly became the heart and soul of our family. Little did we know that Bertie would become our rescuer as much as we were hers.

Last year, a degenerative condition, common in her breed, stole Bailey's sight. Despite the darkness that enveloped her world, Bertie's spirit remained unwavering. Her endearing habits, from speaking on command to curling up next to "Sir" during migraines, showcased her intuitive connection with our family.
Bertie's boundless love knows no bounds. She's a canine ambassador, turning strangers into friends with her infectious joy. Her only fear? The Furry Overlord of all Creation, our mischievous cat.

Bailey's journey is a testament to resilience and the transformative power of love. Her story is one of overcoming challenges, finding light in the darkest moments, and teaching us that sometimes, it's the ones we rescue who end up saving us. Blind Bertamaious has not just captured our hearts; she has become an inspiration for embracing life's uncertainties with a wagging tail and an open heart.

Can we do a blurb as if Bailey is speaking this next part? So in a separate section from the article but on the same page.

“Bark Bark! I haz a good home! I live with LADY and SIR, and little lady, little lady, and little sir. I also haz big sister who eats my head every time I go out, a little brother who is my new eyes. There is a furry GOD who knows I am scared of it, so it always wants to lay with me. I love my people cuz they give me portions and I know I’m the best dog because I’m the only one allowed on couch!”
