Where Values Meet Realty

A Jacksonville Leader’s Dedication to Community

“I’m from Jacksonville, North Carolina, but my roots trace back to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Greenwood, South Carolina,” he begins with a bright smile. His father was born in Greenwood, South Carolina. After his father's time in Greenwood and Greenville South Carolina, he eventually moved to Philadelphia where he met Josh's mother. Joshua's mother was born and raised in Philadelphia. The couple eventually relocated to Jacksonville when his father joined the Marines, beginning their life in North Carolina.

This blend of northern and southern influences shapes his personality and approach to life and work. “I have a huge family, mostly in Philadelphia, South Carolina, and Atlanta, Georgia,” he shares. “My heart and servant mentality come from them. I extend that love and giving nature to everyone I come in contact with.”

Surrounded by “supermen and superwomen,” he learned the power of compassion and strength. The men in his family were prime examples, showing genuine love and care for others without compromising their values. “Seeing big strong men in my family like my father and others cook, clean, and show compassion while maintaining their standards as men taught me a lot,” he reflects. Joshua's mother has also been a great example of strength and compassion. "She did whatever she needed for the collective," Joshua added.

In Jacksonville, he’s a familiar face, often seen volunteering with the Chamber of Commerce’s Business Diversity Council, mentoring children through Aspire Reaching Beyond the Obvious, or advocating for fair housing with the Jacksonville Board of Realtors and NC Realtors. “I’m currently going through the William C. Bass NC Realtor Leadership Academy (class of 2024) and serving as the YPN chair for the Jacksonville Board of Realtors,” he adds. For the past three seasons, he’s also been a volunteer football coach at Northwoods Park Middle.

His involvement with Aspire Reaching Beyond the Obvious is particularly noteworthy. “We volunteer to mentor boys and girls aged 11-18, from grades 6-12,” he says. Estrella Rogers, one of Aspire's leaders, lives in Williamsburg Plantation and reads Stroll Magazine. Sammie Rogers, Estrella's husband, coached him at Northwoods Park Middle and Jacksonville High he goes on to add. Sammie and Estrella, aka Coach Butch and Star, are people that Josh looks up to a lot for their selflessness and commitment to the community.

April marked the completion of his third year in business. His decision to start a real estate business was driven by a desire to serve others. “I studied and learned the true value of money and investing, which can help drive families forward. I wanted to educate others, especially from my community, on home ownership and how to achieve it,” he explains.

His real estate business offers comprehensive services, including buying, selling, renting, consulting, community involvement, education, and mentoring. His unique style focuses on consultation over presentation. “I practice the platinum rule—treat others the way they’d like to be treated—over the golden rule,” he explains.

Residents should call him because of his deep commitment to serving the community. “I’m here to help and guide you every step of the way,” he says, embodying the heart and spirit of a true community leader.
