Hi, my name is Carine Merritt. I was born in Jamaica, Queens, and grew up on Long Island. I moved to Buffalo in 2010 after meeting my husband, Joseph Merritt, while in trade school. I got my certification as a Pharmacy Technician, and my husband is a Certified Electrician. We have three amazing boys together. I am a proud boy mom to Sean (11), Chris (8), and Jacob (4). 

My family and I enjoy playing video games and card games! We all love going on adventurous family trips and working out together. We are big fans of astrology and art. Of course, one of our favorite things to do is eat!

We are all foodies! I have always had a passion for cooking, but my passion really grew after starting my family. We sit around the table every night and tell each other about our day. I grew up eating homemade meals with my family around the table almost every night, and I wanted to make sure I provided that for my family, also. 

I worked as a certified pharmacy technician for about eight years. I enjoyed what I did as a Pharmacy technician, but I had a passion for cooking that I just couldn't ignore. I decided to stop working in the healthcare field and followed my passion by getting into the food and beverage industry! I worked as a line cook at Olive garden during the week and was the Supervising Chef a D'youville College on the weekends for about two years. I learned so much about the kitchen during that time. My experience in the kitchen gave me the confidence I needed to start my own business. 

I started Carine's Caribbean Cuisine in 2019. I provide Private Chef and Catering Services. My specialty is ... Caribbean Cuisine!  My cooking style has a mix of Jamaican and Cuban flavors. I am inspired by my blended heritage. I enjoy sharing the traditional Jamaican and Cuban flavors passed down by my parents and grandparents. 

My unique combination of flavors, fiery personality, and contagious smile will guide you through an unforgettable Caribbean experience you never knew you were missing.
