The Castleberry Family
We’re excited to introduce you to the Castleberry family. Brian and Amy, along with their daughters, Kaitlyn and Allison, and their miniature dachshund named Miley, moved into Wyndridge in October 2020. For those of you who don’t already have the privilege of knowing the Castleberrys, here’s a little more about them:
Brian grew up in nearby Wetumpka. After high school, he attended Auburn University before transferring to and graduating from Auburn University at Montgomery. Today, he’s a healthcare executive at athenaHealth. When he’s not working, Brian enjoys a variety of outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, snow skiing, and water sports.
Amy is from Greenville, Alabama, and graduated from Auburn University Montgomery with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. She’s currently enjoying her role as a kindergarten teacher’s assistant at Saint James School. In her free time, Amy loves watching their girls cheer on the Saint James Trojans, reading, and traveling.
Both girls attend Saint James School. Kaitlyn (17) is in the 11th grade and is a cheerleader for the varsity team. She likes hanging out with her friends but also enjoys painting, calligraphy, and babysitting. Allison (14) is in the 9th grade and is on the JV cheerleading squad. She enjoys dancing, making TikTok videos, traveling, babysitting, and being with friends.
“Our family built a vacation home on Lake Martin two years ago and since then have enjoyed being on the lake as much as possible,” says Amy. “Brian, Kaitlyn, and Allison have all learned to wake surf. They love surfing and tubing with friends on the lake anytime they can. Sunset boat rides are also a favorite for our family, including Miley!”
Fun fact: Brian and Amy are both preacher's kids, so it's not surprising that they are an active part of the Montgomery First Baptist Church family. Kaitlyn and Allison are involved in both the youth group and youth choir and love going on choir tours and to youth camp during the summer. Brian teaches an adult Sunday school class and has led numerous foreign mission trips. He has also chaperoned youth camp at Shocco Springs, so he has enjoyed sharing the youth camp experience with our girls.
“Brian and I met through mutual friends watching an Auburn football game in 2000,” recalls Amy. “We were married the following year and just celebrated our 20th anniversary. Brian has always loved to travel and quickly introduced me to lots of fun vacation spots and new adventures,” she continues. “Our love of travel has been passed on to our girls, and some of our favorite vacation destinations have been New York City, Alaska, Hawaii, Park City, Utah, and Disney World, making memories we hope our girls will always remember. With Brian in charge of all our travels, we never know where our next adventure may take us!”
The Castleberry family loves everything about Auburn. Saturdays in the fall are always planned around Auburn football games. They love watching the Tigers play at Jordan Hare, but also at home for away games. Kaitlyn and Allison share this love of Auburn football and now as teenagers love tailgating with friends and attending games as well. Both girls hope to attend Auburn University in a few years.
“We moved to Wyndridge from Wetumpka so we could be closer to school, church, and our girls’ friends,” explains Amy. “It has been a wonderful change for our family, and being so much closer to our everyday activities has been a game-changer, especially with a new driver in the family!”
“Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from our family to yours!”
