October 2014 was our first issue of Wyomissing Neighbors. For most people, our publication just showed up out of the blue in the mailbox one day. Now here in October 2022, we are celebrating the completion of our eighth year and our first year with our rebranded name, Stroll Wyomissing.
As the owner and publisher of Stroll Wyomissing, my job is to keep our quality high, our content interesting and entertaining, and keep it healthy as a business. For eight years, I have watched this publication grow and prosper. I want Stroll Wyomissing to live a long life. We want to do good work that Wyomissing residents will enjoy.
We have had over 20 amazingly talented photographers help us over the years. Mark Searfoss deserves special thanks for doing the bulk of our cover photography. I enjoy working with Mark, and I look forward to every photo shoot.
Stroll Wyomissing has benefitted from the talent of dozens of contributing writers — too many to list. Since June 2017, writer Phyllis McLaughlin has been bringing us articles on a wide range of topics. She always brings enthusiasm to her stories and a genuine interest in people, that is evident in her work. Thank you, Phyllis!
Thank you to the residents of Wyomissing who have shared their stories and photos every month. We will always be looking to you for help with story ideas, suggestions, and your feedback. My goal for Stroll Wyomissing is for it to be a way for residents to get to know each other better, and I hope this publication adds to the strength of the Wyomissing community.
Most importantly, I want to thank all the advertisers who make this publication possible. Five of our advertisers have been with us every month since the first edition eight years ago. They are Russo Foods & Market, Hollywood Cleaners, Carim Eye & Retina Center, Colonial Fitness and Lisa Tiger REALTOR®.
Our seven-year advertisers are Berks Hearing Professionals, Edward Kuhn Funeral Home, Keystone Instant Printing, Rhoads Limo Service, Quaker Maid Kitchens of Reading and ROG Orthodontics.
Our six-year advertisers are Eric J. Miller RE/MAX, D&B Elite Custom, Shearer Technical Computer Consultants and Brewer’s Bar & Grill.
Our five-year advertisers are Esterbrook Pharmacy, Muddy Creek Soap Company, Weaver’s Orchard, Chester Perfetto Agency and Godfrey’s Dogdom.
All our advertisers understand the significance of supporting the Wyomissing community, and they fuel the engine of this publication every month. Please stop in to talk to our advertisers or call them and let them know you appreciate how they help to make your free magazine possible.
These two pages are a collection of my favorite photos from the past year and a few photos going back a bit further.
To our Wyomissing neighbors, we look forward to bringing this magazine to you for many years to come! — John Bieber
